Nerja’s beach and cliffs seen from the Balcón de Europa, on the Costa del Sol

Things to do on the Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol runs for some one hundred and fifty kilometres along the coast of Málaga province, from Nerja to Manilva, between the sea and the mountains. Besides beaches and one of the best climates in Europe, it has white villages clinging to the hills, flower-filled old towns, marinas and, an hour away, some of the most beautiful day trips in Andalusia.

Each stretch has its own character: the east, with Nerja and the Axarquía, is quieter and greener; the centre, from Torremolinos to Fuengirola, is the liveliest and best connected; and the west, with Marbella and Estepona, the most elegant. By car you can cover all of it in a couple of hours.
